The sweater is knitted from the top down with a pattern according to the diagram in Double Sunday and Tynn Silk Mohair. First, stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is worked back and forth with turning rows to form a slanted shoulder. Then it is worked back and forth to down under the sleeves. Then stitches are knitted up for the front piece, where stitches are cast off and stitches are increased for the neckline. The front pieces are knitted together and knitted back and forth to down under the sleeves. Then the front and back pieces are gathered together and knitted in the round to the full length. Before the rib, the number of stitches is adjusted to get a nice transition from diagram to rib. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves. The sleeves are knitted in the round using a pattern according to the diagram. Stitches are decreased evenly and the sleeves are finished with rib. The neckline is knitted to the end. The entire sweater is knitted with 1 thread of each quality.
