Knitting for Olive Pure Silk is a soft and exclusive yarn made of pure raw silk. The yarn is made from wild silk, which means the pupae are collected after the caterpillars have crawled out of the pupae and become butterflies.

Silk has temperature-regulating properties and is a material that can be used all year round. Silk can absorb moisture up to 30% of its weight without it being perceived as damp and heavy, the yarn is therefore particularly suitable for use in summer. At the same time, silk, like wool, is an insulating yarn that keeps you warm when it's cold.

The small butterfly on the banner shows that the larvae can become butterflies and that the yarn is therefore cruelty free. The yarn is spun at a spinning mill that follows ethical and environmental goals, which results in a yarn completely free of harmful chemicals.

The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified.

  • Material: 100% silk
  • Length/weight: 250 m/50 grams
  • Recommended needle: 3 mm
  • Stitch strength: 28 mx 38 v / 10 x 10 cm
  • The finished garment is washed by hand

About color reproduction

We always do our utmost to ensure that the product images reproduce the colors correctly. However, monitors display colors differently, some may display them deeper and stronger while others brighter. We therefore cannot guarantee that the pictures show the exact color of the yarn. You can always email us at hej@lillagarnbutiken.se if you want to see more pictures.

Wash and care

This yarn is best washed by hand with wool detergent, for example Eucalan. Let the garment lie in a tub with about 4 liters of water together with a teaspoon of wool detergent. Then gently squeeze out the water and place the garment on a towel. Roll the towel with the garment and squeeze out the water.

If you have a washing machine that can run a spin-only program, you can use this instead of squeezing out the water in a towel. If you are unsure about your washing machine, we recommend that you knit a test patch that you wash and spin to see how the yarn and fabric behave.

Let the garment dry flat, preferably on a towel. The garment should not be dried in direct sunlight, it can be in the sun without any problems when it is dry.
