Hør Silke is a dream for light summer garments, because when it's hot there's probably nothing that feels better on the skin than linen and silk. The yarn has a nice color range and the yarn's structure with wild silk and linen varies slightly in thickness, which gives the yarn life and depth.
While knitting, you may experience unevenness in the yarn, and the finished garment may need a wash to get back into shape. Hand wash with a detergent designed for silk.
Hør Silke consists of fantastic French linen and wild silk, tussah silk, which are spun into thin threads that are then knitted together to make yarn. This means lightweight garments where the yarn fills nicely.
- Material: 70% French linen and 30% tussah silk
- Indicative knitting tension per 10 cm: 17-23 stitches (we at Lilla garnbutiken recommend 21-23 sts/10 cm)
- Recommended needles: 3.0 – 5.0 mm.
- Weight / length: 50 grams = approximately 175 meters.
- The work should be washed by hand with wool detergent and then dried flat.
- Produced in Italy.

About color reproduction
We always do our utmost to ensure that the product images reproduce the colors correctly. However, monitors display colors differently, some may display them deeper and stronger while others brighter. We therefore cannot guarantee that the pictures show the exact color of the yarn. Wash and care
Wash and care
To achieve the luxurious linen look, this yarn should be soaked for 24 hours before washing for the first time. The water should be completely clean and at room temperature. If you are knitting with multiple colors or qualities, it is a good idea to soak your sample to ensure that the colors do not bleed.
Squeeze the water out into a towel (or spin it lightly in the machine) and let it air dry indoors in the shade. Linen should never be tumble dried, as this can cause it to wrinkly.
All washing after this is completely as usual, you can wash it by hand at 20-25°C with detergent intended for silk. Do not spin hard, as the linen may wrinkle.
