The cardigan is knitted top down in half English rib in Tynn Peer Gynt and Tynn Silk Mohair.
First, stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is worked back and forth with turning rows to form a slanted shoulder. The back piece is worked down to under the sleeves with increases for armholes. Stitches are cast on for the front pieces, which are worked separately with increases for V-neck and armholes. The piece is then placed on a circular needle and worked back and forth with increases on the front pieces, before finishing with a rib. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are worked in the round. The sleeves are finished with decreases and rib.
Double-knit cord and edge along the front edges and neck are worked to finish. A cord is attached to the side and a handle is attached to the inside of the cardigan, so that it fits well.
The entire cardigan is knitted with 1 thread of each quality.
Semi-patent knits grow a bit in the wash. Wash the cardigan and lay it out according to the measurements given to get the right fit.
GAUGE: 17 sts and 44 rows half English rib on needles size 4 mm when the piece is stretched a little = 10 cm
