Agnete Cardigan is knitted from top to bottom in English rib. First, a piece is knitted in double rib that will sit at the neck and connect with the front edges. Then, stitches are picked up in this piece to be able to continue knitting on the back piece. Then, the right front piece and left front piece are knitted. These three parts are joined in the next step to continue knitting on the body, which is knitted back and forth in English rib with double rib front edges. Buttonholes are knitted along the double rib front edges at the same time. Then, stitches are picked up in the armhole and the sleeves are knitted from these stitches.

Make a swatch before you start knitting to find the needle size that gives you the right gauge. Please note that the gauge in height (i.e. number of rows per 10 cm) can vary depending on the yarn you are knitting in. The most important thing is that the gauge in width (i.e. number of sts per 10 cm) is correct.

There is a video with the techniques of English rib and double rib at www.petiteknit.com.

Size guide

Agnete Cardigan should have a positive ease of movement of 10-15 cm in relation to your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured on the body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measures 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A cardigan in size S has an upper width of 105 cm and in the above example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 15 cm.
