November Balaclava Mini is knitted from the top down in half rib. First, a square is knitted to form the top of the head. Then, stitches are picked up on each side of this square, and the balaclava is knitted straight down, and finally joined under the chin and knitted in the round. This is done by picking up stitches under the chin. Finally, a ribbed edge is knitted around the face opening.
Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives you the right knitting tension. Wash the swatch before measuring the knitting tension.

Knitting strength: 16 stitches x 36 rows in half rib on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm before washing corresponds to 14 stitches x 36 rows in half rib on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm after washing because semi-patent stretches when washed/used.
